3D Pen Mini’s

As the world of tabletop roleplaying games evolves into what feels like the future, I discern a desperate, mid-life-crisis-ish urge to stay abreast of the cool new tech that came out several years ago (I’m slow to adapt).  3D printing is one such cutting-edge contrivance… but I’m not willing to risk a large investment (read: I’m cheap) in a desktop 3D printer to make miniatures.  Not yet, anyway.  Instead, I bought a 3D Pen to see if I could wield divine power upon the (small-scale) realm of plastic!

Board Game Corner: Infernal Contraption

Welcome to Board Game Corner! We all play board games, whether it’s a mainstay at our gaming tables or just something we fall back to when a regular RPG session falls through.

This is a new addition to the blog that I’m testing out. I’ll be contributing a new article at least once a month. We’ll be doing reviews and game round-ups for you to enjoy! We hope you like it, please feel free to leave any questions or comments below or just shoot me an email.

Quick, Colorful Mayhem for 2-4 Players

Are you a fan of goblins, or in this case bodgers? Particularly the kind who tinker and build contraptions that typically result in spectacular displays of high voltage electricity, steam, explosions, and sometimes bodger bits smattered everywhere!?

Stuck? Roll Some Dice – Spark Ideas, Kill Writers Block

Tools of the Trade

I’ve been using a lot of accessories for writing and adventure design lately, among my many tools, a few of my favorites have been the Fourthcore Alphabet and the Deck of Many Things from Madness at Gardmore Abbey. I’ve also been using some miscellaneous bits on things like cryptography, numerology, and puzzles from online sources. Using stuff like this makes for a really interesting mix of dungeon scenarios, plot hooks, fun challenges, and lots of other stuff.

Fiasco – One Hell of a Good Time, and Giveaway!

Congrats to Zorana on winning the Fiasco contest! We hope you enjoy all your Fiasco goodies and the hours of enjoyment to soon follow! Please, everyone feel free to keep commenting and discussing the game in the comments below!

Let Me Tell You A Story

During our last day at Gencon, Micah and myself were pulled into a game of Fiasco by Danny Rupp of Critical-Hits (aka @Bartoneus the Architect DM) along with about a dozen other folks, we wound up with 4 full tables of games going on. While neither Micah or I  were honestly too keen on the idea of playing at first, I’m fairly certain the experience was some of the most fun we had during the whole convention and I’m very glad we played.

Review: Truly Random, a RPG app for Android

Truly Random: RPG Die Roller

I cannot count the number of times my players have shown up without their dice. I cannot count the number of dice that have been lost over the years. And sometimes, I simply cannot count. What I’d like to share with you today is an app for android users that can alleviate these pains and bring so much more to your gaming table.

Review: The Shadowfell: Gloomwrought and Beyond

An Invitation…

The Shadowfell is a place between worlds, it is a dark mirror of the material plane where everything within is tinged with death, decay and morally gray tones. The inhabitants of the Shadowfell are all tainted or crooked in some regard, it is a place where death seems insignificant and the city walls themselves even seem to keep a watchful eye.

Espionage, black politics, factions and many a mystery permeate this dread plane. In a world where everyone and every thing is seemingly out to get you, survival is surely an accomplishment.

The Shadowfell boxed set is to serve as a campaign setting across most levels of play, a recurring locale, or perhaps one the players must escape from or break into. No matter how you look at it, if you’re in the market to run something dark, bleak or oppressive this is probably a great way to get started.

Award Winning!
