It’s February 14th, so you know what that means! No, not Valentine’s… Campaign of the Year! That’s right friends, it’s time to show your love for your choice of the best campaign from 2020! Last year might have been a rough one, but we tried our hardest to keep it afloat with some tremendous featured campaigns. The pay-off for all that effort comes now – in the form of a really awesome list of contenders for Campaign of the Year!
Obsidian Portal Campaign of the Month February 2021 – Heroes as a Service
Bellis has always seemed quaint enough.. Sure it’s got its problems, but for the most part the folk are content to farm and harvest lumber. I mean, how many villainous types could possibly want to bother them? How many dilemmas could these simple people find themselves embroiled in? As it turns out, more than you’d think. Fortunately for them, they have Heroes as a Service – February’s Campaign of the Month! We’d best get a move on if we’re going to catch up to GM nuadaria before it’s too late.
CotY 2019 Results!
It’s been a long time coming, but at last we have a bit of closure for the tabletop gaming world. Yes friends, the results for our 2019 Campaign of the Year vote are in! Dark forces out in the universe tried really hard to keep us from our proverbial “appointed rounds”, but they could not stop our diligent Selection Committee, or your vote. The best that they could achieve, was to slow us down but a little (maybe a tad more than “a little”, but hey, we’re being optimistic here!).
So let’s not permit another moment to slip by! Onward, to the results!

Make Your Voice Heard
It’s the beginning of a new year, so you know what that means! That’s right, it’s time to take a long, nostalgic look back at all of the featured campaigns that came before, and pick our collective favorite! “But wait” I hear you say, “Isn’t this 2021? Why are we looking at the campaigns for 2019 when we should be looking at those for 2020?”.
While we could make a joke (or two, or a thousand) about how rough of a year 2020 was, the truth is that we need to set right a certain wrong before we can get to 2020’s featured campaigns. You might not have noticed (and frankly, who could blame you), but we never got to crown our 2019 Campaign of the Year – and that’s just not right! This being the case, the Selection Committee has decided that the best way to give 2019’s contenders their due recognition is to give them the distinct CotY vote they should have received (instead of a ‘double header’ style vote like we did the last time we got behind). Having said all of that, let’s take a moment to look back at 2019’s featured campaigns!
Obsidian Portal Campaign of the Month January 2021 – Gaxim Plague
It began with the coastal cities, but it wasn’t long before it spread – moving inland at a rate that the scholars said was ‘prodigious’. They should have said terrifying. The disease is so virulent and rapidly spread that the clerics cannot keep up with the demand for cleansing. Rumors swirl that many within the faith have succumbed themselves… I shudder at the very possibility of that being true. A solution must be found, Amn must endure this Gaxim Plague – January’s Campaign of the Month! Now, muster your courage, say a prayer and come with me, as we enter the lands of the Forgotten Realms with the GM of this month’s featured campaign, Frak_Lou_Elmo!

A raven for you m’lord! The situation in Westeros remains uncertain, and your council is requested. If you’re a fan of the A Song of Ice and Fire book series or the Game of Thrones TV series, then you will absolutely love House Jasper – December’s Campaign of the Month! So come along as we step briefly into the world of dragons and white walkers with daniel_burns_jr, GM of this long-running campaign!
