Stats & Art Contest Mar. 2010: HamSTAR 2099! 3/02/2010 – 3/31/2010

UPDATE: Results can be found here

This contest runs through the 31st of March. The Facebook fanpage has done it again, Adventurers! This time they’ve invented a game system. Well, ok technically they invented two (See here for details).

Stats

If you can come up with stats for Feral Space Hamsters (or their Feral Space Chinchilla PCs) as PCs for Ironclaw, Rogue Trader, or the strangely defined laws of HamSTAR 2099 & ChinKILLA 3010, then you’ll have a chance to win a $25 US gift certificate to Amazon.com! We’ll pick the best three entries, and they’ll be our winners. There’s no limit to the number of entries, and you can win for more than one setting!

Art

If you can dream up art for the fictional cover of either the HamSTAR 2099, or ChinKILLA 3010 core rulebooks, then you’ll have a chance to win a $25 US gift certificate to Amazon.com! We’ll pick the best three entries, and they’ll be our winners. There’s no limit to the number of entries, and you can win for more than one art piece!

Good Luck, and Good Gaming!

Stats & Art Contest Jan. 2010: The Giraffelich! 1/29/2010 – 2/12/2010

UPDATE: Results are here!

This contest will run till the 12th of February. As some of you know, the Facebook fanpage struck RPG gold by coming up with the concept of the Giraffelich. We’re so in love with this undead even-toed ungulate mammal, that we’re running a Giraffelich Stats & Art contest!

If you can come up with stats for a Giraffelich (including appropriate background fluff, and encounter group info as appropriate) for Rifts, 4.0e, Savage Worlds, Exalted, or Pathfinder; then you’ll have a chance to win a $25 US gift certificate to Amazon.com! We’ll pick the best three entries, and they’ll be our winners. There’s no limit to the number of entries, and you can win for more than one setting!

If you are artistically inclined, and you can come up with some bangin’ art of the Giraffelich, then you too can win a $25 dollar gift certificate to Amazon.com. Remember, the giraffelich is a cunning lich as well as a giraffe. Just making an undead giraffe isn’t going to cut it. Liches have rings and phylacteries and evil robes and what not. Capes. Again, we’ll pick the best three entries, and they’ll each win. There’s no limit to the number of entries, and you can win for more than one drawing!

Gamers Helping Haiti: The Givening

In the monthly newsletter we sent out yesterday we mentioned the Gamers Helping Haiti Product Bundle that’s now available for sale on DriveThruRPG. For those of you who don’t get the newsletter, here’s what we said on the subject:

“One Book Shelf (the company behind DriveThruRPG.com and RPGNow) and a huge number of RPG publishers, will have put to together an epic product bundle with a retail value of over $900.00. The bundle is yours for a $20 dollar donation through this link to Doctors without Borders. On top of that, One Book Shelf will match all of the donations!”

There have been a few changes since we sent the newsletter:

  • At the time of sending the newsletter, the retail value of the bundle was roughly $900 US. Today it’s over $1400 US!
  • Because of the huge demand, One Book Shelf is unable to match everyone’s $20 dollar donation, but will continue to match $5 and $10 dollar donations.
  • The bundle will be available through January 31st, 2010! That gives you 10 full days to put together the $20 donation.
  • It very well might be the RPG deal of the decade.

Help Haiti and Win a Prize!

We at Obsidian Portal want to spread the word about this worthwhile offer. So in addition to everyone in the office buying a bundle or two, we’re running a twitter contest to help get the word out! We’re giving away a $100 US gift certificate for DriveThruRPG to one random someone re-tweets the following message on twitter:

The $20 Gamers Helping Haiti Product Bundle! See http://bit.ly/5wSNEp for info & you could win a $100 gift certificate from @obsidianportal!

So spread the word about the Gamers Helping Haiti Product Bundle and you could win!
