Greetings OPers,
It’s going to be somewhat of a brief update this time around, but here we go nonetheless. Please feel free to give us your thoughts, opinions and feedback in the comments below, and as always – take care.
Email Delivery
There was a temporary disruption to the services relating to the email delivery mechanism, and emails were not being delivered for a period of about two days. This problem has now been repaired, and the affected emails (roughly 50,000) are now being processed by the server and should be delivered in the next ~48 hours. We apologize to everyone for the inconvenience
Tags and Campaign Forums
Work on repairing tags and campaign level forums was temporarily halted so that the ‘red alert’ issue of email delivery could be resolved. Now that this has happened, work has resumed on these two remaining bugs. As before, both remain high priority items, and fixes will be rolled out as soon as is possible.
PayPal Integration
As mentioned in the last update, the development folks are in the process of adding PayPal as a payment option for Obsidian Portal subscriptions. Work on this is pretty far along (if I’m not mistaken it’s on staging at this point for testing), and we should be seeing this roll out soon. I wish I had an exact date for everyone, but
Optimizations/SEO
The process has begun to fit in some back end optimizations and SEO improvements during the month of November. While not user-facing or flashy, the overall throughput of these actions will help to make the site better under the hood.
