Haste w/ Brian Liberge: Midgard 4e Bestiary, 3.5 Reprints, Ninja Panda Taco

[powerpress] | Episode 51 |

Announcements

Tonight we’re joined by game designer Brian Liberge, he’s here to talk to us about the Midgard Bestiary! First, though I should mention that we are extending the nomination time for the Excellence In Innovation Awarduntil July 13th, so hurry up and nominate while you still can!

Topics

Midgard Bestiary for 4e D&D

I talk with Brian about all of the awesomeness that is going into the Midgard Bestiary for 4e. The Kickstarter is still going strong and it’s a pretty sweet deal for $10 (PDF) for all of these monsters. If you’re a monster fanatic, a fan of Midgard, or just appreciate top notch monster design you guys should really be checking this one out!

D&D 3.5 “Special Edition” Reprints

Wizards of the Coast has announced yet another batch of retroactive D&D reprints, these time: the 3.5 core rule books due out this September. They are “special edition” releases but as far as we can tell that only means new cover art and updated errata. We discuss, and perhaps speculate a bit, tell us what you think!

Project Ninja Panda Taco

With a name just as ridiculous as its game play promises to be (still unsure where the ninjas, pandas, and tacos fit in) Project Ninja Panda Taco is getting kickstarted and you should check it out! Why? Because a ton of talented people are behind it and unless you hate fun, you’re probably going to like it! According to Brian, the game sounds like it plays out similar to the plot of Despicable Me. Be sure to check it out, let us know what you think!

Tip Corner

Check out the new home page (www.ObsidianPortal.com), tell us what you think!

Twitter Question

@Alphastream asks: How do you guys balance being creative vs keeping monster simple? Listen to find out!
