Update Post – July 19, 2021

Greetings and salutations Portal People, it’s time once again for another update post. As has been the case for the last few posts, these entries are listed as an “UPDATE”, a “BUG FIX” or a “FEATURE”. For this post in particular, I have broken them down by type as opposed to site area as I have done for some past posts.

So check out these lists, and take comfort in the knowledge that work continues on Obsidian Portal. As always, you can direct any questions, comments or feedback to [email protected]

List of Site Updates
  • [UPDATE] Added the notextile HTML tag to the tags whitelist for text editors. This enables HTML-based skipping of textile parsing in the enclosed section of content in the editor window.
  • [UPDATE] Map markers are now only draggable when the map is in Edit mode. This will help prevent unintended moving of markers.
  • [UPDATE] Added a checkbox to the Calendar Event creation page for opting out of the new event creation notification. This will enable event creators to create numerous events without spamming other campaign participants’ inboxes.
  • [UPDATE] Added support for the webp image format for campaign background images. This gives users an additional image type option when uploading a campaign background image.
  • [UPDATE] Updated the Item listing page, show page and creation page to make use of a new default avatar image. Items with the default avatar will now show a backpack as opposed to a character silhouette.
List of Bug Fixes
  • [BUG FIX] Updated URLs in Calendar Event descriptions to be fully qualified. This will prevent problems with the events are pushed over to Google Calendar.
  • [BUG FIX] Fixed an issue where the HTML entity “+” wasn’t correctly being converted to a “+” as expected.
  • [BUG FIX] Fixed an issue where jumping to an anchor in the page content would sometimes result in the nav bar being stuck (or pinned), with the content underneath it.
  • [BUG FIX] Fixed an issue where logging into Obsidian Portal from one device would log the user out on any other devices. Users can now be logged in from any device, and should stay logged in on that device for the maximum duration for cookies (20 years unless/until cookies are cleared by the user). Changing one’s password still logs the account out on all devices.
  • [BUG FIX] Fixed a local caching issue where users who were logged out would still sometimes see pages in the ‘logged in’ state.

Thanks for checking out this list of updates with us. We’ll be back with another Site Update post in a few months. In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled and see if you can spot the updates as they are released. Until next time, take care and don’t let those dice cool off!

Award Winning!
