Hey Obsidian Portal Community.
It’s time for another update post! Last time around, we had a span of two months between updates. This time, it has been about three. I’m still looking to find that “sweet spot”, and three is kind of feeling right at the moment. There’s something about the idea of an OP “quarterly report” (of sorts) that I like, so I may stick with that going forward.
That said, if you have any comments regarding the update schedule, please feel free to let me know. These update posts are for you guys, so if you want them more or less frequently, I’m all ears. Anyway, let’s get into it!
Features
- [Feature] Added “Wish Lists and Goals” area to the character create/edit screen.
- Updated Player Secrets to also enable exclusion of the GM if desired by players.
- [Feature] Added a “Secrets” tab to campaign navigation to enable quick viewing of all secrets you have access to see.
Quality of Life
- Updated the Terms of Service with a quick-summary-style preamble
- Added notification checkboxes to the “New Forum Topic” creation page.
- Added the support email to the “Delete” popup messaging to let the user know they need to email support to get something out of the trashbin.
- Added the tilde (~) character as an allowed character in Wiki Page links.
- Added instructions in the Media Library for GMs on how to create “GM Only” folders.
- Added a “GM Only” visual indicator for “GM Only” folders in the Media Library.
- Added “Pin to top” checkbox functionality to campaign forum topics. Such topics are given a “pinned” class for css styling (pinned topics are sorted by “last updated” status).
Bug Fixes
- Removed the Google+ option from the Social Share Buttons.
- Fixed the Facebook Share button to avoid an error message.
- GM-Only pages now appear in the count for GMs when searching tags.
- Fixed a bug that was causing some headers to appear bold or grey.
- Fixed a bug where Adventure Log dates and times were not saving correctly.
- Fixed some incorrect Help Article links.
- Updated some resources to secure them and prevent a Chrome warning message.
- Added validation to prevent Player Secrets from being hidden from everyone.
- Fixed a Player Secrets bug that was preventing all Players from being unchecked.
- Fixed a broken link in the Help Article, “Players Can’t Edit the Wiki.”
- Updated Calendar Events to consistently display the user’s current time zone instead of the browser time zone.
- Fixed a bug with the Avatar Hover feature that was preventing the display of character and item hover images in cases where the name was in all caps.
- Clarified subscription plan language in the “Downgrade to Free?” messaging.
- Fixed a typo on Accordion Insert and Tooltip Insert, which used to say “Inser.”
- Fixed an issue where reflexively hitting “Enter” on the “Link to Wiki Page” window or Tooltip text box would refresh the whole “Edit” Wiki page, and eliminate any work that had been started but not yet saved.
- Fixed an incorrect url issue where the Campaign search results for “Forum” (threads) were giving a 404 error.
- Fixed a bug that was causing some players to see more Secrets than they were supposed to see.
Display Upgrades
- Added some visual space between the header and the paragraphs in some error messages.
- Updated the Campaign Search area to show the “Filter Campaigns by” filter when in mobile view.
- Changed tag “X” (delete) hover to be the “Hover” color instead of the “Active” color.
- Changed Calendar “Day of the Week” headers to be the “Main” color instead of the “Hover” color.
- Changed “Play Status: Playing” to be the same color as other statuses because the “Active” color is not always clearly visible against the background image.
