Social media posting presents an interesting challenge – how do you capture a reader’s attention and convey sufficient information to get the point across in a limited space? And can you use these limitations to make interesting play-by-post games? There is certainly a bit of a magic formula to make it work, but the rapid-fire nature of the short report fits perfectly in certain kinds of RPG’s. It may even hone your descriptive skills for other roleplaying games!

Silverbeam Creations Review

For my last birthday, my favorite (only) sister gave me a monthly subscription for roleplaying goodies in a box from Silverbeam Creations. It’s a small company run by one dedicated game-lady named Eileen Bowen who has a passion for 3D printing, miniatures, and all things geeky. Here’s a short interview from the Pinshape blog about her. Silverbeam has sent me piles of gaming accessories over the past several months and we’re going to take a look at a sample.

Choosing Chairs

Is seating affecting your gameplay? We game sitting on mismatched dining room chairs, folding chairs in Mom’s basement, on the thin carpeted floors of apartments, on benches in coffee shops, and everywhere in between. The lucky ones might even have customized gaming chairs like these or these. The environment in which you play table-top roleplaying games has an impact of which you may not be aware. If you’re seeing issues at the table, try adjustments to the IRL adventuring arena. Sometimes, swapping seating may benefit more than just your backside.
